About Ste-Croix - Les Rasses

Located in the heart of the Jura Vaudois to 1’100 m altitude, the ski resort of Sainte-Croix – Les Rasses is prized particularly for its landscapes and its ideal skiing area for families and beginners. Since 2007, snow cannons, mobile ensure a good snow coverage of the slopes. The village of Sainte-Croix is also specialised in precision mechanics and famous for its music boxes and nickelodeons. A small museum dedicated to this craft, the CIMA, attracts some curious people.

The ski resort of Sainte-Croix - Les Rasses spans 8 hectares on the plateau of the balcony of the Jura, between 1'150 and 1'580 m altitude. It includes 30 km of tracks, including 20% of green slopes, 50% Blue slopes, 20% of Red runs and 10% of black runs. The low altitude of the slopes makes it an ideal ski area for beginners who can train safely. The station is popular with families with children receiving further views on the Alps, Mont Blanc and Lake Neuchâtel. The Switzerland of les Rasses Ski school instructors offer classes for all levels. For the cross-country skiers, the Nordic centre of les Rasses offer 7 trails for cross-country skiing, with a lighted until 22:00 for practice at night, a waxing centre, a locker room and showers. In total, these are 65 km of groomed, with a 9 km long, opened to skiers along with their dog! Several golf trails for snowshoeing, lengths and varying difficulty depending on your physical condition, are proposed. The region also beautifully lends itself to the backcountry. Finally, small and large gliding enthusiasts can practice sledding on the slopes of Mauborget Télébob or ice-skating on the natural ice rink for "la Combe".

Finally, the resort has good infrastructure for sports indoor. The Grand Hotel des Rasses offers a swimming pool, and Sainte-Croix, a sports centre awaits you with climbing wall, fitness room, room accessories and room for team sports (volleyball, basketball...).

You will find a few hotels and restaurants within the resort of Sainte-Croix – Les Rasses, as well as breakfast, accommodation, group, apartments or chalets and cottages mountain. In the surrounding villages, the amateurs of stays unusual will be able to sleep in a yurt at the Farm of Martalet, Démoret or on the straw. An unusual experience to try if you are not too demanding on comfort! It would be a shame to stay in Sainte-Croix – Les Rasses without a visit to the gastronomic specialities of the region! Please do not hesitate to give you a small tour of the Brewery Three Ladies of the Holy Cross (on appointment) and the cheese factory Tyrode (Gruyère AOC, vacherin Mont d'or AOC, tomme, cream...). Taste also the famous amandines, this delicious biscuit made of almonds and honey which is a specialty of Sainte-Croix!
