About Grimentz

Grimentz is a ski resort in the Valais Alps, located in the Val d'Anniviers at an altitude of 1570 m. A picturesque village, full of flowers in summer and with a well-preserved heritage, it also enjoys a magnificent setting that makes it popular with winter sports enthusiasts and hikers alike. From spring onwards, geraniums (more than 30 different varieties!) brighten the balconies of centuries-old houses with red, giving the village a cheerful touch that contrasts with the majestic white mantle covering the surrounding mountains.

The Grimentz ski area stretches from the Becs de Bosson up to an altitude of 2900 m. From the top, a splendid panoramic view of the Val d'Anniviers and the Rhône valley opens up before you. The ski area has 42 km of slopes, including 13 km of blue runs, 17 km of red runs and 13 km of black runs. What's more, a single pass gives you access to all the ski resorts of the Val d'Anniviers (Zinal, St-Luc/Chandolin, Vercorin), which makes more than 220 km of slopes. Since January 2014, a cable car links Grimentz directly to the resort of Zinal. At 3 km long, it is the third-longest cable car in Switzerland!

Three toboggan runs offer more great sliding fun: Bendolla-Grimentz (4 km), Mirador-Grimentz (2 km) and Grimentz-Les Bouesses-St-Jean (6 km). You can also enjoy 14 km of cross-country ski trails and more than 100 km of marked winter walking routes (6 paths of varying length and difficulty). Five snowshoe trails start from Grimentz, 19 km in total! A natural ice rink, a bobsleigh run, a funpark for snowboarders and an ice-climbing waterfall complete the winter offer. Plenty to fill your days!

Grimentz is a beautiful village well worth a visit. If you are staying there for your winter holiday, take the time to explore the streets of the Old Village and visit the 16th-century Maison Bourgeoisiale. The tour ends with a visit to the cellars and a tasting of the famous Vin des Glaciers, a true local nectar! If you are in Grimentz in December, don't miss the winter festivities held in mid-December in the Old Village, with a Christmas market, concerts and entertainment for young and old. At the end of January, a sporting event draws crowds to the resort's slopes: the GiantXTour, an impressive ski and snowboard competition for schoolchildren and apprentices from all over Switzerland.

Grimentz offers a wide choice of accommodation: several hotels, two country guesthouses, a bed & breakfast, apartments and chalets for rent, group accommodation and two rustic mountain huts for the more adventurous... Whatever your needs, the size of your group and your requirements in terms of comfort, you will find just what you are looking for in Grimentz!
