About Glacier 3000

The Glacier 3000 ski area is the highest in the Les Diablerets ski resort and in the canton of Vaud in general: situated between 1,350 and 2,960 m above sea level, partly on a glacier, it offers nine ski runs (28 km in total) for all levels of skiers in spectacular surroundings. From the 2017/2018 winter season, the Glacier 3000 ski area will be expanded with a new red slope. It is now 8km of continuous skiing from 3000m to 1300m. The expert skiers will descend the Combe d'Audon piste. The latter starts from the Scex Rouge station at 2'960 m to reach the Oldenalp, 7 km further (1'137 m difference in altitude). There are many itineraries for freeriders, one of them starting at the summit of the Dôme, at more than 3'000 m! Finally, at an altitude of 3'000 m, the Glacier 3000 snowpark, with 3 lines of different levels (beginner, intermediate and expert), will delight freestyle and snowboarding enthusiasts. A 6 km long cross-country skiing track awaits the amateurs. Those who want to practice other activities can toboggan in the Funpark set up in the lower part of the Ice Express chairlift, or go winter hiking: a 3 km run, starting from Scex Rouge, will offer you a splendid view of the Valais mountains.

The winter season is long, because of the altitude : it begins at the end of October and extends until the beginning of may. Some of the activities can be practiced in all seasons : if you enjoy hiking, 75 km of slopes are waiting for you, of varying lengths and difficulty variables. Winter hiking trails, scenic trails... there is something for all tastes! The Glacier Walk, a route is 3 km long, leading from the Scex Rouge and down until the Keel of the Devil, is open throughout the year. It is the same Dome Hike, long 1.5 km and connects the Scex Rouge to the Dome, 3’016 m! In summer and autumn, the view of the glacier and the valleys below is awesome!

Other activities await you within the area of Glacier 3000, including the Alpine Coaster, an impressive luge track situated on rail, 1 km long with 10 turns more or less steep, waves and jumps, you dévalerez at a speed up to 40 km/h! Rides dog sledding, a visit to the glacier in snowbus or a tour by plane or helicopter can be offered.

To recover from all these emotions and relax, there's nothing like a good dinner in a restaurant! This is not what was missing from the station of Glacier 3000! The most famous is the restaurant Botta, designed on four floors by architect Mario Botta : a-service restaurant on the fourth floor, a self-service in the third and a terrace with a bar on the second. It serves many specialities of the region to his guests, who also benefit from an exceptional panoramic view on the peaks of the Alps.
