About La Dôle - St-Cergue
La Dôle - St-Cergue is a ski resort located in the Vaud Jura, overlooking Lake Geneva and the city of Nyon. This privileged location makes it a popular destination for both skiers and hikers. Splendid landscapes, a quality ski area, nothing better for a beautiful holiday to recharge your batteries by breathing invigorating air and admiring superb views of the Alps and Mont-Blanc!
Connected to the neighbouring ski area of Les Jouvencelles, in the French Jura, the Dôle-St-Cergue ski area extends from 1,230 m to 1,678 m in altitude, and offers 23 km of slopes: 31% green slopes, 42% blue slopes, 19% red slopes and 8% black slopes. An essential activity, the village of Saint-Cergue has two illuminated night skiing trails, between 6:00 pm and 9:30 pm, from Tuesday to Saturday! There is a package including an unlimited run on these two tracks and a fondue dinner in the restaurant of your choice: try it, you won't regret it! As for cross-country skiers, seven ski slopes await them, making a total of almost 120 km of itineraries that allow them to pursue their favourite activity while enjoying the magnificent landscapes! For other great sliding sensations, you can practice activities such as sledging, bobsledding or funlifting (buoy descent!) on the slopes of St-Cergue!
If you like hiking, the Domaine de la Dôle - St-Cergue is for you! Guides and guides in the middle mountains organize outings, tailor-made or in groups, according to your wishes. Feel free to contact them. There are also five marked trails for snowshoeing. St-Cergue is also a village renowned for its breeding of sled dogs. You can contact the Nordic centre of Saint-Cergue - La Givrine - La Cure for a sleigh ride to discover this magnificent site!
Every year, at the end of winter, the Nyon ski club organises the popular Dôle Race, a sporting competition in giant slalom or popular downhill categories. Don't miss it if you are in the resort at the beginning of March, for its friendly and popular atmosphere! But other events can also be held from time to time. Feel free to contact the St-Cergue Tourist Office to obtain this information.
Several accommodation options exist: hotels, apartment rentals, chalets and group accommodation, guest rooms, gîtes and mountain huts.... The region is also known for its gastronomy, as you will see when you dine in one of the resort's restaurants. One of the local specialities is yellow gentian, whose roots and rhizomes are removed in autumn for the production of brandy. The distillery of Risoux can be visited by appointment: contact them to book. The distillery of Bassins, specialized in the extraction of essential oils from aromatic and medicinal plants, as well as the St-Cergue cheese dairy, will allow you to discover other local products.
