About Marécottes
The resort of Les Marécottes is located in the Trient valley, between Chamonix and Valais, Verbier and the Portes du Soleil, above the town of Martigny. The altitude at the bottom of the resort is 1,100 metres and 2,200 metres at the top. It offers an exceptional view of Mont Blanc and the Swiss Alps. It is an ideal place for families thanks to its calm and conviviality, as well as for off-piste enthusiasts, who will be able to benefit from the accompaniment of the guides present on site. Photographers, professional riders and mountain guides have long been attracted to the area.
Enjoying a 100% natural snowfall thanks to its high altitude, it offers 25 km of slopes, of which more than half are classified blue; 25% of them are red, and the remaining 20% are classified black. It has a gondola, a chairlift, a lift and a transport mat for children.
Non-skiers can also spend a very pleasant stay thanks to a variety of activities. The field of Marécottes has a toboggan run of 7 km, a natural ice rink and itineraries with snowshoes. Many hiking trails, winter connect the station to nearby villages and used to browse through the gorges of the Trient, Black Head and Triège.
An alpine zoo of 35 000 m2, located at 1100 meters above sea level, completes this leisure offer, and allows to observe the alpine fauna in its natural environment: wolves, foxes, bears, lynx, wild boar, chamois, deer, marmots but also birds, including several species Rare.
Two restaurants are present on the slopes : the Refreshment Hut and the restaurant The Creusaz. The restaurant allows you to discover local products and the local cuisine on a terrace with a view on the mountains : fondue, raclette, rostis in the Alps, meat on a slate.
