Thyon is a ski resort located in the centre of Valais, on the west side of the Val Hérémence. With the resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz and La Tzoumaz, it is the domain of the 4 valleys, the largest connected ski area in Switzerland and the third in Europe. Thyon is located on the eastern tip of the 4 valleys. A very friendly, sunny and renowned resort for its children's facilities, Thyon is particularly suited for the practice of family winter sports.
The ski area is on three levels: Thyon-les-Masses, at 1600 altitude; Thyon-les-collions, at 1800 m; Finally, Thyon-2000, located as its name implies, at 2000 m altitude! 212 km from pistes await you, 416 km if you count the 4 valleys area! The resort has two advantages: a Snowpark, the Centralpark Thyon, considered the best of French-speaking Switzerland, accessible at all levels, since it has three tracks, for beginners, for the intermediaries and for the pros. and its excellent beginner structures: an entire area limited to 30 km/h is dedicated to them. The beginners have three adapted trails, the Petit Vallon, the Piccolo and the Bambino, for the learning of skiing and snowboarding in complete serenity, in a secure space. When children start, a snow garden allows them to learn from the age of three and a half years to travel on the snow and become familiar with this new environment. Learning is provided by specially trained teachers.
If you prefer cross-country skiing, three trails are available at Thyon: La Mura (1 km), Thyon 2000 (500 m) and Les Chottes (5 km). Other winter sports are offered: winter hikes (two trails: the Tour of the collions, 5 km, and the trail of Thyon 2000, 8 km) or snowshoes (three trails of 3.5 km, 5 km and 8 km), sleigh rides drawn by dogs , from ice skating to the outdoor rink of the collions or from the village of Hérémence, or from two-seater paragliding flights for thrill enthusiasts. It's for everyone's taste!
To relax after downing the snowy slopes, animations are offered: Wednesday evening, torchlight descent and mulled wine; On Saturday, the pedagogical farm of the Masses-Hérémence offers after-ski animations with presentations of animal care and the milking of cows. On the blue slopes, ski scavenger hunts are organized for the enjoyment of children, who practice skiing in a playful way by trying to solve a riddle and find clues, such as aspiring adventurers. Finally, during the lunch break, a multi-purpose room, with vending machines for snacks and hot and fresh drinks, is available to all those who wish to have a picnic in the shelter of the cold! A great opportunity to help skiers meet!
