About Beatenberg-Hohwald

The Hohwald Resort is located in Beatenberg, a village stretching across a sunny terrace above Lake Thun, facing the peaks of the Bernese Oberland. It is a small, family-run resort, just a stone’s throw from the Niederhorn.

The Hohwald ski lift, which has been in operation since 1966, serves three easy- to moderate-difficulty slopes. At the base of the lift, the children’s winter wonderland features two small ski lifts that are free for all children, a sledding hill, and a playground. It is also the main training ground for the Swiss Ski School in Beatenberg.

To warm up, the Alphütte Hohwald welcomes skiers at the base of the slopes. A free ski bus runs on request from the Waldegg stop, and there is a fee for parking at the ski lift.

The Hohwald ski lift is part of the Magic Pass.
