About Bumbach-Schangnau
The small Bumbach-Schangnau ski area is located in the Emmental, at the foot of the Hohgant, at elevations ranging from 920 to 1,365 meters. This is where downhill champion Beat Feuz learned to ski.
Two ski lifts—the Roseggli and the Gemeinenwängen—serve more than 9 km of trails through pastures and forests, suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. The first section is covered with artificial snow. Younger children can enjoy a children’s ski lift and the Emmental’s only magic carpet, located next to the Gasthof Rosegg.
The Beat Feuz race course, complete with start and finish huts, can be reserved for races. Cross-country skiing, winter hiking, and snowshoe trails round out the offerings.
Access by PostBus from Escholzmatt to the Skilifte Bumbach stop, or by car via Schallenberg from Thun. Bumbach-Schangnau is part of the Magic Pass.
